Once you started solids, how long did you wait for your little one to have a bowel movement before you would worry about it?

  • Mine always went 4-5 days between poops. I didn't worry about it.

  • My doctor said if it was longer then 7 days to use an over the counter product. I never really worried about it except for the time my daughter screamed and sobbed when she tried to poop.

  • if he went a whole day or two without pooping i would give him some prunes (baby food) or some gerber apple/prune juice and it always did the trick!

  • My baby would poop about every 3-4 days. It is not unusual.

  • It's not really about frequecy it's about consistancy. If you LO is showing signs of pain, or if stool is hard or pellet like, of if stomach is hard, then it's time for concern.

  • op- she was trying to go and couldn't, it made her cry and her belly was tight so I gave her a suppository. thank god the nurse taught me how last time they had to do it in the doctor's office! about an hour later she pooped so much it was from her feet to her shoulders. NOT exaggerating! now she's my happy baby again :)
