Obama Administration to File Suit Against Arizona Immigration Law

Soooo you think they have actually READ the law or are they going to build the ENTIRE case on hearsay?

  • I believe Obama adminstration should file suit. Immigration should not be handled on a state level.

Someone has to do it since the feds have historically refused to.

  • The Arizona law, which would go into effect in July, requires immigrants in the state to carry documents verifying their immigration status and requires police officers to question a person about his or her immigration status during a "lawful stop" if there is "reasonable suspicion" that person may be in the country illegally.

Now a senior administration official tells CBS News that the federal government will indeed formally challenge the law when Justice Department lawyers are finished building the case. The official said Justice is still working on building the case.

  • LOL! It is obvious they haven't read it yet..because the suit was announced before they finished reviewing it. What a bunch of dolts.

:23, you are right on one point. States should not have to handle immigration issues....that is the JOB..let me be clear..JOB of the federal government. However, if they fail to do the job and LIVES are at stake, it naturally falls upon states and localities.

I don't know a single soul that is against the law.

  • The Federal government can't win, the supreme court will strike them down, if  a lower court does not beat them to it..

  • Actually it says they MAY file suit but I guess that wouldn't sound as good in your title.
