So how long do you think it'll be based on your story or others you've heard?

I'm 36 wks. I'll be 37 on Monday. I had an appointment today, and the dr says I'm 4cm dilated. He also had me hooked up to a monitor to make sure I wasnt in active labor since I'm having contractions. He told me to take it easy and try to keep the baby in another week. Anyway.. I wasnt four cm until an hour after my water broke with my first...

  • I was 37 weeks when I delivered my son. I was only 2 cm dilated when they broke my water. I don't know exactly how long it will be but I would say really soon. Good Luck with your delivery, and an early congratulations on your new bundle of joy :)

  • I had a Dr. appt. when I was 37 weeks. My Dr. asked if I had been having any contractions or pain. I said no, I was just wondering if the baby had dropped. He said, well, you're 5cm. You could go anytime. As soon as I walked out, I had a small contraction, got home, (3 min drive) my water broke & I delivered about 40 min later. Thank God I was only 3 min from the hospital.

  • My mom and a friend told me they sat at 3-4 cm for weeks. With my second, I wasn't dilated or effaced at all at 39.5 weeks, but had my baby 4 days later after 8.5 hours total labor. So no telling.

  • I was 4cm with my second child for 3 1/2 weeks so you may still have a while to go yet
