how do i get my 3yr old to sleep

hes been a really good sleeper, every once in while hell wake up and want to be covered up cuz hes cold. well the last 2 nights he wont sleep more than 30 min and acts wide awake. yesterday i though it was cuz his nap was to long and not enough play. well today he only slept for 45 min and then him and my husband walked to the park and back which is a little under a mile round trip. he went to sleep fine but has been waking up every 30 -45 min. i dont know what to do. any ideas?

  • sounds like he could be he still teething? is he waking up screaming/crying? it doesn't sound like he's trying to be bad. get his ears checked, he could have an ear infection that's hurting him really bad.....

  • i think he might be getting sick but hes never done this before even being sick. no i dont think hes trying to be bad. i just gave my him a warm bath and rubbed him with lavender lotion and hes finally asleep, i guees we will see how long it stays that way. thank you for your reply!

  • could just be a phase. you didnt sneak any caffienated sugar bombs into his dinner did you? :) lol! maybe he's testing the waters? seeing what he can get away with? i would just try and wear him out before bed time. i hope it passes soon. i look forward to bedtime!!
