i have a question for my mom

my mom was working last night when she heard a popping sound in her right wrist on the pinky side...and now she has pain and stiffness in her wrist and hand....she is the stubborn type about going to a doctor....i got her to agree at least that if she is not better when she wakes up she will call into work...but do you have any idea what she could have done? there is no swelling or bruising

  • FIRST and foremost she MUST got to work and fill out an incident report. The human body is intricate and the possible problems are endless, it is best to be covered if it is something serious! Popping can be tendon or ligament damage that can require surgery to fix or something less invasive like a small dislocation or displacement of a tendon (which can cause repedative popping and pain after) which can be popped back in place either by a doctor or on its own. Sometimes the popping is a tendon to bone cross and the noise is it popping across and back into place rest and time will heal that loose tendon, but there is NO WAY to know unless you go to the doctor. ICE that baby to reduce any swelling for the first 24 hours and seek professional assistance if it worsens or doesn't improve! BUT MOST IMPORTANT IS FILL OUT AN INCEDIDANT REPORT IMMEDIATLY!
