  • a box of instant potatoes-1 dollar (better yet if you can find real ones on sale)
    hot dogs
    sandwich stuff
    cereal for breakfast
french toast for breakfast-we always do this camping and then use the leftover eggs for the next mornings breakfast too
spaghetti for dinner (make up the sauce ahead of time)
bbq chicken ( a pack of legs or wings is usually like 3.00)
    carrots/bananas for snack

  • We take pre-cooked and frozen taco meat, and pre-cut toppings, hot dogs, spaghetti (we pre-cook the meat and mix it in the sauce, then freeze it) Canned Soups, PB & J, Cereal (Take two gallons of milk, one frozen, one not. The frozen milk will keep everything cold in the ice chest until you are ready to use it. Leave it out overnight when you are ready to use it, just make sure you shake it really well before pouring it.) I could go on and on. I have a camping supply list and menu that has been perfected by my family over the last 40 years. We never bring more than we need, and never forget anything we do need. I love camping!

  • What kind of camping? If you are tent camping, there are tons of stuff you can do before hand and put in the cooler. Make sure to double up on zip lock bags. The ice will melt and the food will get soggy. You can pre-cook spaghetti sauce and just cook the noodles. You can cook ribs, chicken, or pork tenderloin half way and finish them at the camp site. Hamburgers and such are always easy. Make chicken salad, macaroni salad, or slaw. Pre-cut fruit to take. Also, if you have a cast iron dutch oven there are tons of recipes to use. The best is stew. You can also make peach or apple cobbler in the dutch over. Just make sure to season it well before you use it. If you make cobbler, line it with aluminum foil or you will need a jack hammer to get the crust out. Just goggle dutch over recipes. Have fun! We love to camp. We now use a motor home, but tent camping is a blast.

  • Hot dogs are an easy, cheap camping food. You can also do sandwiches and to change it up you can heat them on the grill and make hot ham and cheese. Cereal and cereal bars for breakfast. Any kind of veggies you can wrap in foil and put on the grill. We also like to marinate chicken breasts in a gallon zip-lock baggie and then grill it at the camp site. You can also do MRE's-Meals Ready to Eat. There military, but you can buy cases for a few dollars a meal. They have everything- spaghetti, chicken, stew, etc. There good to have cause they will keep for 2 yrs if there unopened.
