Do you support your loved ones even when they are doing something you do not agree with?

I need some other opinions on this please. I refuse to back-up or support anyone regardless of who they are if they are acting stupid. I cannot stand drama and I do not wish to invite it into my life, and so many people seem to thrive on doing this. Why?

  • I will support them if they're not hurting themself or someone else. That doesn't mean I won't voice my opinion on the subject.

  • my sister has had the same on and off, drunk boyfriend for a few years now. the first 5 times they got back together i was like ok, maybe he learned his lesson. now i dont care. it's her life and if she wants to let the stupid bastard in let her, but i dont want her to come crying to me about it anymore.

  • Sure I've got plenty of beloved family members who do actions that I don't support...and I'm sure I do some things they think are wrong or weird...but like you, I don't like drama (especially in the family), so we pretty much agree to disagree and don't talk about it.

We all still like and/or love each other, we just keep away from some topics when we hang out.

  • nope. the stuff this certain individual does impacts her kids life with her drinking and partying and having no income. I took myself out of the equation. If she's going down,I'm not going along for the ride.

  • I do, yes. If I feel a negative consequence may occur, I will voice an opinion and will give it if asked for it. Otherwise, I support them because I love them.
