  • Pick up a copy of 2010 Writer's Market, or 2010 Novel and Short Story Writer's Market. They have listings for publishers with editors to contact, and the types of books or articles they are looking for. Go to the bookstore and start looking through books that are similar to what you want to do, and check the publisher's that printed them.

Also look for agent listings, very few publishers accept material from unagented writer's, but there are a few that do.

Look for writer's groups in your area, they can be an invaluable source of information.

    Good Luck!!
