What do you do when you are stressed?

I am not personally under any stress at this time, I am just curious as to how others handle stress? I find that when things are very stressful (like an illness in the family, financial stress, basic mental or emotional overload , etc.) that it helps to take a walk, go do something with my family (something low-cost or free like a picnic or time at the park) or to take a nap. Sometimes I just need a little down time to re-set the brain and feel like facing whatever situation has hit front and center in my life. I find that constantly focusing on the cause of my stress just makes it worse and offers no solutions because I don't have a fresh outlook.

  • Go to the gym. They have a nursery and if I go early enough in the morning I can run the track w/ my 8 y/o and wear him out. They watch the kids for 2 hours a day!

  • You didn't say it had to be a healthy way to deal...I sit outside and read...and smoke or drink some rum.

  • Depends. Normally I just need a min to decompress.

    Sometimes I drink, sometimes I pray, sometimes I talk it out.
