It's Irish and is derived from Hebrew words that mean "God is gracious". Even disregarding the meaning (usually I just make sure they're not like a foreign swear word or anything) I think it's great! And I love the way the Gaelic language spells!

No. I think it's awful. That was the name of the girl on American Idol and every person on the show said her name a little differently, like no one really was 100% sure what her name was. Any time you need to give the phonetic pronunciation of a name it's not a good sign.
