Do you think the name Lily carrys over to adulthood well?

Dh and I really like the name Lily, but I'm worried that it is cute for a little girl, but not very strong for a woman. Do you think the name carries over to adulthood well?

  • Lily is better than so many other names. And it is a good strong OLD name.

  • Frasier's wife on Cheers was named Lily. He called her Lilleth, didn't he? She was a psychologist on the show.

  • Maybe you could have Lily for her middle name and have her go by it. I think Lily is a cute name even for an adult though.

  • My daughter's name is Lillie after her great-grandmother.
Yes, it's a cutesy fartsy name, a name might help you be "strong" but your personality confirms it far better than a name.
If you like it, I would name her Lily. Like lendales said, you could always name her Lillian, and just shorten it to Lily. :]

  • In my opinion, no, lily is a cute name for a little girl but as an adult I have only ever hear the longer versions.... like katie going as kate or katherine as an adult..... some are just cute for a little girl. But then again, why care about everyone else, she is your child and you can call her just about whatever you want.
