  • I skipped rice cereal and went straight to oatmeal for all of my kids. Oatmeal is a healthy food with benefits I want my kids to have. I buy the baby cereal that is fortified with iron, but I have also made my own baby oatmeal by grinding up dry oats (the slow cooking kind) in the food processor to get my own oat flakes. Both of my older girls still love thier morning oatmeal and I have just started my 4 month old on it as well.

  • None of it. It's constipating and nutritionally void.

  • Oatmeal has fiber, protein, and complex carbohydrates- it is not nutritionally void.

  • None. no baby ffod, and babies under a year don't digest grains because their gut is not mature enough. It goes out pretty much the same as it went in. Useless. Stick to table food. No fuss and practically free. If you wait until 6 months or later you will haver fewr problems and you won't have to puree things into oblivion. Wait until the bsby has developed the ability to move food wih the tongue and makes chewing motions and can pick up food to mouh. This signals digestive maturation, though all nutrition still comes from breastmilk or formula, as solid digestion is not yet efficient.
