this may sound a little crazy...about hemorrhoids

i had 2 hemorrhoids and a couple weeks ago i had a huge rock hard painful poop. my body kept forcing it out but it wouldn't come out by itself so i HAD to push really hard to to get it out and one of them burst. it stopped bleeding quickly and it was a huge relief. it feels so much better, but i still have one more, i'm due to have my daughter in 2 weeks, do you think if i push hard enough when giving birth i can get the other one to burst? it just seems like the best remedy cause it worked for the other one

  • You don't want them to burst! You could have some serious bleeding issues when they split and you open yourself up for an infection. Instead, get some hemorrhoid suppositories and use them to reduce the swelling & irritation so that it goes down by itself. If it is very painful, get some anusol or nupercainal to numb the area temporarily. If the hemorrhoids are really bad, ask your OB for a prescription suppository to use, as they work very well at reducing the swelling & easing the irritation. Also, get a donut pillow to sit on to ease the pressure on the hemorrhoids until they go down.

  • Oh, and another reason to not want them to split open is that you can develop scar tissue, which splits even more easily because it doesn't stretch, so then your problem is worse because the hemorrhoid could become permanent or you could develop anal fissures because of the scar tissue splitting everytime you have a bowel movement in the future.

  • also take a stool softener so you don't get hemorrhoids. don't know why more ob's don't tell pregnant women this! I started taking a stool softener @ 9 wks & NEVER got any hemorrhoids.
