At what age would you take your infant out to swim?

What about if you live in arizona wheres its hot??

  • I took my son out in the ocean, no sunblock, in Florida, with t-shirt and sunglasses, under an umbrella at 3 months.

  • With both my 1st and 2nd I think they were about 3-4 months for thier first "swimming" experience. Because they were born in Feb and March..so it was hot here by June,lol. As long as its warm enough out and they are properly shielded from the sun I think any age is really okay to start.

  • I know here infant swim classes start when they are able to hold their heads up independantly.

  • I took mine as soon as they could hold their heads up. No older than 4 months.
