Should this women get her children back when she gets out of jail?,0,7549845.story

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think this women should get her children back when she gets out of jail?

She gave birth to the youngest in jail and the news story doesn't say what happened to the children but seeing as how she left her children in the car during some of the burglaries and used the children to help her rob houses....DO YOU THINK SHE SHOULD EVER GET HER CHILDREN BACK?

  • NO!! There are alot of women that go to jail that shouldn't get their children back, but that doesn't seem to prevent the courts from allowing them custody of their children again.

  • It happens all the time. Do I think it's right, no. But that is the way the system works.

  • No, but she probably will. I've seen chronic offenders (married) who are gang members and both deal and use drugs go thru a 30 day drug rehab program, and the judge gave them all of their kids back. They were back to dealing and using within a month, and within 6 months the kids were taken away again.

  • OMG, NO. She is really a train wreck. It is doubtful that people like this woman will ever be rehabilitated...she will probably be back in jail again soon. Using her kids during robberies....she is one sick puppy.

  • Yes if she can get the help she needs to be free of addiction to pain medication. I dont think she is a sick puppy... just that she needs help and be pointed into the right direction. I believe she has a huge chance of recovery IF she makes the right choice. Its hung upon that right now. She has to WANT to change and be free of the meds that she is addicted to.

  • I think the kids need to be the focus, rather than the mom. Get her help, and make sure she sticks with it, but that takes a great deal of time. Is it just to keep moving kids around just to satisfy the parental role/bond ? Children have so few independent (of the parent) rights in this country.

  • IF she can get help with the underlying issues that led her to this behavior. IF she proves that she can be a good parent to those children. Regardless of what she has done, she is still their mother, and we should make the effort to help her, but not to the point that her children are in danger. I think the children should be getting some kind of help as well, depending on their ages, of course, to deal with their mother's behavior. A baby won't have the same feelings as a 10 yo, for example. I think she has a lot to do to prove that she should be the primary guardian, in any case.
