Hair falling out? What's going on?

Is it anything that I should be really concerned about and see a doctor?

  • Stress? Diet changes? Those can both cause moderate hair loss. So can a recent weight loss.

  • Are you taking any medications or supplements than might cause it?

  • thyroid conditions....simple blood test. I might call your drs office and tell that that you are losing hair. They might want to run some tests

  • How is your hair falling out? In clumps in certain sections of your scalp? Then yes, see a doctor, it sounds like alopecia areata.

If it's been slowly falling out and not regrowing, it could be other forms of alopecia like androgenic alopecia.

If however it's just been recent, it could just be your hair going through it's life cycles. This could just be the telegin(sp?) phase (where the hair falls out and begins again at the anegin(sp?) phase.

if you believe it's a form of alopecia, see your doctor.
