What is the highest SPF factor you use at the beach?!

I never use anything higher than an SPF 8 (grew up in a time when SPF 4 was considered being overly cautious! LOL), and I am fair skinned--but tan really well (after the initial burn, LOL)! Do you worry about getting a melanoma?

Do you make your kids wear SPF 50+?

Last question of the day....I think?! LOL :o)

  • After 30, there isn't a difference. I grab a certain brand that guards against UVA and UVB and contains Parsol.

  • i've always heard (and my kids' dr told me) that anything about 50 doesn't help anymore. so if you wear 75, really, you're just wearing 50. lol.

  • My kids wear Rash Guards (protective clothing) that has an SPF 50. The exposed body parts are covered in SPF 50 lotion. I wear SPF 50 as well to be a good role model :o)

  • SPF 30. I've already had one pre-cancerous mole removed so melanoma is a bit of a concern to me.
