Another one about books.

Which book do you feel misrepresents your faith/beliefs the most?
(This can be someone of your own faith you don't agree with or someone of another faith speaking of your faith in a way not true to what you believe.)

  • Does Harry Potter count? No? Okay, then just about anything written by Raymond Buckland... Specifically "Wicca for One" his beliefs and teachings are very black and white - this is right, this is wrong - as if life doesn't have any gray... When personally I think life is all gray.

  • Origins of Modern Witchcraft by Ann Moura is pretty bad. So is Silver Ravenwolf's Teen Witch IMO. I try to keep in mind that many Pagan books only present the author's opinions, not facts, but I dislike books that purposely present opinions and biases AS facts. Books with titles like "The Real Witch's ________" also tend to annoy me because they sound so judgemental...like they're the only REAL Witches and others are just fakes. I have to keep in mind that authors don't always get to name their own books however.

  • $ilver(dollar) Ravenwolf

(I tell my newbies to either avoid her like to plague or read her with a barrel of salt. Especially the parts where she promotes telling lies and baneful magick.)

  • Oh, yeah, Sabrina...Uncle Bucky grinds my gears as well.

And I'm no lover of Ceremonial "High" Magick...especially Alaster Crowley or any of the Golden Dawners.
