how to get fired-

my friend is pregnant- due in october. she works for real asshole employers and wants to be fired so she can collect unemployment. she is skeptical about just quitting because she is afraid she will not find another job, being as though she is pregnant and showing. here is the situation- she was promoted in january and ever since then, they have been rude to her- always "sshhh-ing" her in front of other employees and she feels like she is just an hour filler for her management position. any suggestions of how to make her plan play out to her benefit???

  • Are you serious? Lol.. There is a lot going on with unemployment benefits right now.. She should keep her job no matter what to provide for her family. This is very irresponsible thinking on her part.

  • well she could call someone the "n" word or a cracker...maybe a homo.. She could make terroristic threats. Just a couple of ideas..i can think of more.

  • If she quits, she will NOT get unemployment. She should just stay with her job because jobs are hard to come by, especially being pregnant. She needs to be grateful she has a job, there are many people that don't. People that have been with companies for 25 or more years are losing their jobs and not finding another one. She is pregnant and needs to be responsible.

  • Agree with PP. There are a lot of people who would be very happy to have a job. It's not right that she's treated that way at work, but unless she finds another one, keeping this job is really the most responsible thing.

  • i was put on "mandatory maternity leave" because my boss found out she couldn't legally fire me... if she works for a bigger company, she should complain to human resources... it will force them to either be nice, or find a reason to let her go.

  • if She gets written up for acting out in most states that are "right to fire" states they DO NOT have to pay out unemployment. If there is a history (proven on written documentation) that she was a problem employee for whatever reason, they can deny unemployment be VERY careful!

  • Unfortunately, you do not always get unemployment just because you are fired. If they employer can come back and find a legit reason, such as missing too much work, not doing your job as described, etc, they can deny you. It's been happening to people more and more lately.

  • If they fire her because she is neglegent, she won't be able to collect unemplyment, so it might backfire on her.

  • She should talk to her HR department, if she has one.
