trying out new dishes on the kids. What happens when it backfires for you?

Just spent the last 10 hrs cooking pork ribs in the crock. They came out too carmelized. I cant barbeque where we live so I gave the crock a chance. Got this receipe from crock pot moms group. I am working around the ribs at this point. A bit of this and a dash of that. Can anyone relate?

  • We use the 3 bite rule. You must try 3 bites of what is on your plate; if you don't like it, you fix yourself peanut butter and honey on whole grain toast with a kiwi or apple.

  • PBandJs or cereal are all options when something new doesn't go over so well! Or a $5 pizza!

  • I will make them a pizza or something easy.

  • If I'm making something questionable, I make sure there's enough of what they do like - whether it's sides, or a second entree, or whatever - and if it's a casserole or something, then sandwiches or cereal. If it's a total backwash, we'll throw a couple frozen pizzas in or something!

  • Some PB and J or a quick trip to the nearest fast food joint.

  • If it's something that I've never tried before I always do an extra meat. Cause you just never know. I've had that happen to me with ribs. I feel your pain. I'd just make them a sandwich or maybe pancakes. Something simple.
