Best beach on NJ Shore?

Driving from LV area of PA to jersey shore on Saturday with 3 kids under 10. Where can I go that is less than a 3 hr drive that has decent showers/restrooms, is cheap or free, and allows food on the beach?

  • One of the only free beaches at the Jersey Shore is Wildwood. They have several huge piers with games and rides. The showers are not free though. Food is allowed on the beach. Have fun

  • Not many beaches are "free" this time of year unfortunately. And the few that are, there is NOTHING in the vicinity to do with little ones.

As crowded as it gets this time of year, I still say Point Pleasant and Seaside are probably your best bests because of the boardwalk, activities, and abundance of restaurants in arms length. I believe Seaside is 5 bucks per person for the daily beach tag and i think Pt Pleasant is right around the same since they are right next to each other. Pt Pleasant has Jenkinsons Pavilion which is GREAT! they also have a wonderful aquarium! but if your looking for NO attractions, no distractions, hit up LBI (Long Beach Island). Miles of sandy shores without a"Jersey Shore" type person anywhere in sight, lol! have fun!!
