Fried green tomatoes

For those of you who eat these, how do you prefer to prepare them? Looking to try a new method if possible.

I make mine the way my granny made them forever - sliced thin, salted on both sides, then rolled in flour and fried til golden brown.

  • Have always fixed the same way except for one thing, rolled in a combo of flour and corn meal. The corn meal gives them a better taste to me.

  • I do it like Amanada said with the addition of a little cornmeal to the flour and some black pepper.

I like to serve them on a bed of cheese grits and drizzled with remoulade sauce. Yum!
