what age did you baby start talking?

my DD is 9 months and started saying "Ma-Ma" and "Ba-Ba"(for bottle).what age did they first start talking and what was the word?

  • she was about 8-9 months i think....DEFINITELY before 1 she said "ma-ma" And "Noy-Noy". noy-noy was her word for my boobies, have no idea how she came up with that one!

  • She said Momma at around 5 months or so. Then, kept adding to her vocabulary from there. By the time she was a year, it was full sentences and back-and-forth conversation. And she hasn't stopped since!

  • I honestly don't remember for sure when he said his first word. I didn't want to credit random noises for actual words! He was probably around 12-18 months when he was actively saying distinguishable words that were clearly meant to describe a specific thing.

    He could say things like "uh oh" and "bye bye" and "mama" before then, but it was pretty sporadic!

  • BradenlsMySon, if you had a daughter, I'd believe you. She's only 5, but sometimes acts like a really short teenager!
