any dark haired ladies had success highlighting your own hair naturally?

What did you use? How did you do it?

  • You could try henna for more red or sage to make your hair darker. Here's an article:

  • Depends on what kind of highlighting you're talking about? A more natural look can be achieved with lemon juice and sunlight (or a blowdryer).

  • If you want something that specific, it would probably be best to go to an expert colorist. That isn't something you want to fudge up on your own. It could end up costing you way more money and hair.

  • I can color my own hair .. I have been doing it for years.. I learned from my mom who was a hairdresser for 40 years.. I can always buy a box of color to "fix" it if I mess it up. I am not worried about that but i am looking to go a more natural route and get away from the chemicals and still get rid of the grey or make them blend in

  • Your best bet is to go to a store like Sally's and ask them what you should buy. They're trained to get the right color for you and to show you how to use it if you ask.
