Did you get a new car when you turned 16?

I got a used New Beetle Which I traded in on a 2006 Nissan Quest when we had our baby. I loved that car one day I'll get another.

  • Yeah, right.  We only had 1 car when I was a teen and it was a beat up old mini van that I wasn't allowed to drive because the spedometer was broken (among many other things).  Even after my brother got his license (2 years later) the family still only had 1 car.  We all had to share which meant if someone needed the car during the day my mom had to get up at 3am to drive my dad to work.  Or my dad would drop my brother off at work on his way to his job and then my brother had to take the bus home.

Luckily I had no where I wanted to drive to.  The first car I ever really drove was my husband's truck when I was 22 and the first vehicle I actually owned was our van we bought in 2000 when I was 23.
