  • I think I seen it in Parenting magazine and was bored out of my mind with no one to talk to at 3am! And then after joining I found latte land and got hooked! Then got more into the rest of cafemom while waiting for my energy to refill! LOL

  • I joined to give & receive advice on parenting and to connect with other moms in similar situations. Upon all the recent changes to the site, I'm seriously considering leaving it.

  • I don't remember how I stumbled upon it, but I joined when I realized I could talk to/debate with other adults. It was a nice contrast to being with a baby all day.

  • Because I wasn't enjoying my stay on other public forums. I wanted a civil and rational place to answer questions and have my questions answered.

  • To talk to other moms -- not to many people I know in real life have young kids so it's nice to talk to people who I have this in common with

  • I was bored, saw an advertisement on myspace and after several weeks of seeing the ad I finally gave up and checked it out and liked it.

Back then all they offered was journals and pictures.  To make friends you had to read people's journals and comment.  Groups started a week or so later which made things more fun.  That was 3 1/2 years ago.
