  • Yes I do. Apples, cherries, grapes, strawberries, herbs, green beans, sweet corn, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, sugar peas, green peas, cucumbers, salad greens, carrots, beets, squash, peppers, etc. I've been growing a garden of my own since I was 12. I also preserve everything I can by canning, freezing or dehydrating. It doesn't take a huge amount of room to grow a garden (except for the trees).

  • Yes we do, but this year should be interesting as the big tree next my garden fell in it during the last storm.

  • i used to have a black thumb. this year, i decided to try to grow tomatoes and bell peppers. they're plants you can grow in a pot, doesn't have to be in the ground, so that works for me :) i started them and water them every day, i have peppers growing everywhere! my first one will be ready to pick in a couple of weeks, i have one not far from that, and i have baby ones and ones budding out...i'm so excited! i have cherry tomatoes growing as well, they're very small and green i'm wondering how long it's gonna take. those 2 veggies are what i cook with most so i figured i'd try growing instead of spending.

  • yep. we had lots of spinach, romaine, radishes, swiss chard, mulberries, and strawberries earlier this year and we are still waiting for our okra, watermelon, 5 types of peppers, edaname, tomatoes, eggplant, corn, and lima beans to come in. we had a bunch of summer squash and zucchini but DH went out yesterday and noticed we had bugs that ruined all the plants! we also lost our cucumbers, snow peas, spaghetti squash, and pickling cucumbers.

we had a late winter and so far a mild summer...it doesnt make for happy gardening. we also have lots of herbs and 2 types of mint.

  • Yes. Not a year's worth yet (I'm not canning-savvy yet) but a good portion. Starting on fruits - mainly berries.
