mucus in infant stool..

It is hard to explain, but my daughter has a almost gel like stringy sticky mucus looking substance in her stool. Is this normal or something I should call her doctor for right away?

  • Has she been sick lately? When my kids did that they were trying to throw off a cold.

  • Are you breast-feeding? If so, she may be lactose intolerant. At least that's what ER told me when I took DD in for that., Or maybe if you're not breast feeding it's a milk-based formula?

  • Give your doc a call, it's more than likely minor but it's a good idea to ask.
