what is harder on babies tummy, rice cereal or veggies?

  • I would think Veggies... Rice cereal is easier to digest, but veggies are healthier.

  • Since vegetables are harder to digest, I would think they would be harder on a baby's tummy.

  • it depends on the baby. Rice cereal is constipating so it can cause tummy upset and no pooping-neither is fun. It also depends on the type of veggies-some may be easier than others. My son hated rice cereal and we switched to oatmeal.

  • I'm pretty sure veggies are considered a more advanced food. Obviously they can be chopped up and watered down to pretty much nothing, though.

    I just avoided anything other than milk (or formula for other mommies) for the first 6-8 months. It's cheaper, easier, and takes away from the possible digestion issues.
