How was the tranistion to eating clean for you and your family?

  • I have to add that my cooking has taken on a new creative side, i come up with different things every night, I love having a variety of fresh veggies and fruits on hand to choose from when cooking. Before changing our eating habits i never would have thought to mix watermelon, honey dew and cilantro to make a salsa.

  • its eating whole natural foods, basically NO processed food.

Our family strives to eat a whole diet but there are some things we have not gotten away from and probably never will, that is just the way it is in my house. My DH will never give up his flavored coffee creamer and syrups, and i wont ask him to because i enjoy them also. Going from a house with lots of canned, boxed, and jarred food to one with fresh veggies, fruits and only the leanest cuts or organic free range meat was pretty easy. I was suprised that there were less fights about meals. My kids still eat some processed foods but the bulk of their food is fresh food. As long as 80-90% of their intake is whole food I can live with that and feel good that i am teaching them to eat well.

  • It's hard to get used to cooking from scratch all the time, but we all have benefited from removing processed foods one by one from our grocery list.

  • I'm the only one in my family that even tries to eat clean.
I eat everything plain and simple so it was easy for me that way.
