If you take your child to the doctor for something that is contageous and they recommed treating the entire family, does the pediatrician treat the entire family?

  • Our pedi doesn't. He'll treat all three kids but not me and DH. The reason being, he can get in trouble for writing scripts for us. He's only allowed to right them for his pediatric patients.

    If you go to a general/family doctor, he should be able to since he is licensed in all areas.

  • It depends on what it is,, lice, yes,, someting that you need antibiotics for, you will need to see your own doctor for a script!

  • He should be able to treat the whole family. Our Ped gave us scripts for antibiotics so i guess it depends on the Dr
