Painting While Pregnant?

Is it considered safe? I recently moved and aside from painting the nursery, I have a whole house in need of a new paint job! I'm 27 weeks along and I'm not really sure what the official word is on paint. Anyone know?

  • We moved during all 3 of my pregnancies and I painted all 3 times. The paint is made now so it isn't nearly as strong and harmful as it use to be. Just make sure to open a window, and don't climb up and down a ladder. Let someone else do any places you can't reach.

  • Don't paint - the fumes are no good for you

  • renea20 is right. They way they make paint now, it's not as harmful as it once was. I painted every room in my my house when I was 8 months pregnant with my son.
If it's well ventilated you should be fine.

  • if you are going to do it, use paint that states it is low VOC. Personally my thought is better safe than sorry though.
