Did the gender of your kids make a difference in how many you had?

I'm currently pregnant with my second child, another boy. From the beginning, my hubby and I said we wanted 2-4 kids. We decided, now knowing we have at least 2 sons, that we will stop at a girl or #4, whichever comes first.

Anyone else base her family total on the gender of her kids?

  • Yes, a bit. If we had boy/girl twins we probably would have been done, but since they are both boys, AND I would like to experience a singleton pregnancy and only have to focus on one baby, we are trying for a little girl.

  • Nope! We're expecting girl #4!! We would LOVE to have a son, and I think we'll possibly have ONE more baby in the far future, but even if it's another girl, we don't really care.

  • no. My husband only wanted two. I want more and we're on our third boy. i wanted a girl, but if husband is done with kids tahn we are done unless he changes his mind lol but I'm not basing my numbers on gender.

  • We have always said 5. We now have 2 boys and a girl. Since we got a girl after the two boys we have decided that we wouldn't mind having a couple of more kids but we are also content with what we have. So we are just seeing what happens in the next couple of years.

  • Sort of. My df wanted a boy really bad, I just wanted healthy kids, and our first two were girls. Now I'm pregnant with our boy and after he's born my tubes will be tied, I already signed the paper!!!

  • I think if we'd had a boy and a girl we would've been finished. Or a girl and I would've been content. But I always saw myself as having a daughter. It took to the fourth child to get the girl. Life would be boring without my boys. I'm glad it took so many tries. :)

  • Kind of. My husband wants one child and I wanted a girl. We got a girl the first time, so I will probably not campaign for a second child since we have a girl.

  • I have a daughter and I would really like a son too. So if the next baby is another girl I of course will be happy but we will try one more time for a boy but if its another girl I will be happy with my 3 girls!! We only want 3 kids so we will be stopping there at that point. I would really love to have a boy then another girl!!!

  • Not sure yet, we have one boy and 2 girls and I would like one more. My husband said if #3 was a boy we could have a 4th but since #3 was a girl he would like to be done; unless I can guarantee #4 will be a boy. I'm still working on him to have a 4th but since #3 is only 5 months old I'm not too worried about it yet.
