How much prune juice should I give my 1.5 yo to ease constipation?

I think I gave him a little too much yesterday. How much is the right amount?

  • I think it depends on how bad the constipation is. My DD used to get extremely constipated and I was told to give her 1oz of the apple/prune juice. The other thing to try is Miralax. You do a third of the dose on the bottle and it worked great for my kids. It's tasteless, odorless and mixes well with just about anything. I would have to do it for 3-5days to get them back to being regular. Good luck momma!

  • I give my son 1 oz to 3 oz of water. If he is really bad, 2 oz of it and 2 oz water. I never give it straight.

  • I would do 2 ounces of prune juice mixed with 4 ounces of either pear/apple juice or water. And repeat as necessary every 6-8 hours.
