One realtor or two?

We're thinking about moving into a bigger home in the same area. Should I have two realtors (one to sell our current home and one to find a new home) or should I have only one realtor?

  • If you use one, would the fees and commission be combined so it would cost you less? Otherwise I wonder if you got a separate one to find you a home, if it would go quicker.

  • I would think one, but what if they push you to buy a home just because they have already sold yours? I still think one would be easier all around though.

  • One. No reason to have more than that.

  • I agree with the others--I would just use one. Ask about a slight discount off the commission you pay since she'll be handling two transactions...many agents will do this. Good luck to you!

  • One. That will motivate them to sell your house so you can get the new one.
