back then the romans used to rape and beat their prisoners ~ do you think that jesus was treated the same ?

  • I don't know about the rape part but he was beaten from the soles of his feet to his top of his head. Some tradition has said that he recieved 5480 blows.

  • I think its possible, if it was a common thing. If anything, though, that would just make his sacrifice mean that much more to me....

  • Sure, it wouldn't shock me. He was a prisoner like any other, so I don't see why he would have been treated differently... And he was supposed to have been a "beautiful man" so I wouldn't doubt it...
