when did your child stop taking naps

tipping over from pure exhaustion does not count
and if you have to waste gas driving around the neighborhood until she sleeps, do not count this either

mine is almost three, changed her daycare schedule so she was there during nap time so she would take nap twice a week!

i remember it like it was yesterday, the day i cried out "NO!" when she went from two naps a day down to one, now none at home

  • Our DD takes naps every now and then at preschool they have quiet time. So I would say she naps 4 days a week

  • most of my kids they were three when they stopped taking regular naps. In the summer if they start driving my crazy then they have to take a rest (1 hour) my 4.5 year old still has to take a nap because she will fall asleep at 4:30. My 17 month old takes 2 naps a day most days.

  • I used to limit the time on the naps by the time they reached three years old, otherwise they would stay up past ten at night. It was way too long of a day. The exceptions to the rule were when they were sick, I wouldn't put any restrictions on the amount of time resting.
