Were you forced to memorize something in school...that you have to this day never used, but can still recite? For example, in the 7th grade I was forced to memorize the Preamble of the Constitution...I have NEVER had a use for this and I am now 43...but you bet your sweet bippy I can still recite it! How bout you? State Capitals? Books of the Bible? Anything else?

  • I had to memorize the preamble--But I've used it many times since. I have also had to memorize poems and Mnemonic devices for remembering formulas and such. Learning all of that has coming in handy being a teacher--or for helping my own kids in school
