What do you need to do to become a surrogate mother. I dont care about the money just would love to help a family or a few familys out.

  • I don't believe you need any credentials. Just a needy couple and a plan.

  • it varies heavily by state, some states dont legally support it at all. you should probably get in touch w an adoption/surrogacy agency and they would have all the information you would need.

  • look for ads for families who want surrogates. even contact your ob/gyn and they might be able to give you some ideas.

  • Most require surrogates to be a certain age, atleast high school diploma, some require college degrees, a certain weight and health history, and most here in Texas require that the surrogate not receive public assistance or any sort.

  • You need to find an agency to work with and go from there. You can find one online or maybe in a phone book.
