When is it too much taking a day off?

We have been doing so great on walking 2 miles a day but Sunday we pushed it we added 1 mile extra (big mistake) Monday we felt so blah sowetook the day off then today it looks like it's going to rain my dh just got home from work we had dinner now he is past out on the recliner. OK so tomorrow for sure we need to get back to it. Right? We have been walking for the past 3 wks until recently. I don't want to give in to laziness again.

  • If you over-do it and need to take a day off - that's fine. You have to rest your muscles, otherwise you can really hurt yourself. And sometimes life, weather and other circumstances just get ya! Basically, you want to keep track of what you do during a 7-day period. To lose one pound per week you need to reduce your calories (through diet and/or exercise) by 3500 calories. If you can't exercise, then be sure to keep your calories in check. And when you are able to - get back to it. If you have to take a week or so off because of the weather, then don't try to start again where you left off. Start again. Remember - ANY movement you do is GOOD! Whatever you do is better than doing nothing at all!

  • Taking a day or two off here and there is a good thing. Just make sure you get right back out there! That tends to be my problem, one day turns into two, three... and so. lol

If you don't want to take a day off you could try just doing 10 minutes of interval training inside. Do 20 fast jumping jacks then 10 pushups, then run in place for 30 seconds, then 10 tricep dips... and continue moving for 10 minutes straight. Make it up as you go along, you won't get bored:) You won't believe how winded you get. Good luck:)
