Do you think it's truly possible to be an Atheist?

It is my opinion that everyone believes in something, whether it be Jesus Christ, Buddah, Islam, Peter Pan ect ect, or themselves. What do you think?

  • a-theist means "no-god" or "without a god." They do not answer to or believe in a higher power. It does not mean they do not have faith. We all have faith. We have faith that the chair we sit in will hold us up. We have faith that our friends and family will be there for us when we wake up tomorrow. Anyone of any belief system or lack thereof can have faith in something--but that doesn't change the definition of atheism

There are many athiests who are extremely spiritual people.

  • You DO know what atheist means right? Atheist does not mean "believes in nothing". It means they don't believe in a higher being/deity/god.

By the way, Hi I'm an atheist!

  • The definition of an Atheist is someone who denies the existence of god. It does NOT mean you believe in nothing. Many atheists believe in the kindness of people, the beauty of the earth, science, etc. So, I think you're misunderstanding what "atheist" means.

  • I consider myself an athiest. I guess you could say I believe in science but thats about it. I don't believe in any kind of higher being. Just nature and science.

  • yours in the second question in as many days questioning the "validity" of atheism. it's offensive to imply that you know strangers mind better than they know themselves. if you ask an offensive question, expect people to take offense.
