gift return

i had my baby shower saturday and we got two infant car seats. we only need one so we want to exchange one of them for a bunch of formula. it's still in the box and it's from wal mart. can we exchange the car seat for formula? can we take it to any wal mart? will we have problems because we don't have a receipt cause it was a gift?

  • they didn't give you a gift reciept? but anyway, they might take it back and give you store credit. i would try to take it back to the same store it was purchased at.

  • All you can do is try. They usually will exchange anything especially for store credit. Explain the situation and see what they say.

  • You shouldn't have a problem unless they don't have that certain one there. It may be best to take it back to the one it came from. Be sure you bring your ID with you. Just tell it it was a gift and you already have one so you don't need another one. They might put it on a gift card for you so you don't have to return to customer service. If they do let you return it, you can return it for what ever you want as long as it is not cash since there is not a receipt .

  • Any walmart. You are allowed 3 non-receipt returns in a 90 day period. Anything over $20 without receipt is a store credit that can be used on anything in the store. Just tell them it was a gift, you don't need it, and it's unopened. They'll take it back. Trust me on this, I'm the queen of returns! :-)

  • Any wal mart will accept any item that the whole chain carries, it doesn't even have to be carried at that store. They will give you a card for it which you can use for whatever you want.

  • Just tqake it to your local wal-mart and explain the situation and they should be able to give you a gift card to spend however you want.
