Is there something gentle I could use for my 1 year old's dry scalp?

I too suffer from dry scalp and I use a special shampoo. The shampoo that works for me is very harsh and I know it would burn his eyes. He does not do well when it is time to wash his hair. His hair is cut low but when I brush it the flakes sit right on top of his head. I wonder what will help us manage this.

  • I used this on my daughters dry scalp, my dad and sister (adults) also use it on theirs. Just spray it on the affected areas. It's Bumble and Bumble Hair Tonic and it comes in a little pump bottle.

  • Have you tried baby oil and a fine tooth comb to get the flakes off? Then shampoo with a gentle baby cleanser?

  • Olive oil works well, better than baby oil IMO. You can rub a little in at night with a cotton ball to let it seep in, loosen the flakes, and moisturize the skin and then wash or towel it off in the morning.
