Which is 'wrose' IYO: your son want to dress like a girl or your girl want to dress like aboy.

I was looking at Angelina Jolie's daughter I commented that though I thought she was cute I thought giving her a boys haircut was a bit much. My husband said well at least she didn't dress her son like a girl. that got me to thinking about 'acceptability' of girls dressing as boys vs. boys dressing a girls. What do you think.

  • Socially, The boy as a girl is considered "worse". I don't care either way.

  • It would definitley be worse for me to see my 10 year old son walk down the stairs in a pink dress than it would for my daughter to wear jeans and a tshirt that was made for a boy.

  • Tomboys are cute. Boys who dress like girls aren't accepted in this day and age.

  • Even though I would be a bit disappointed. I love my children for who they are and respect their individuality, so if thats what they decided they wanted to do after talking to them. I would accept it.

  • I would think dressing a boy as a girl would be worst.

  • I wouldn't care either way. It's only clothing and hair. There are a lot of more permanent, dangerous ways a kid could express themselves. I would consider myself lucky if they only wanted to shop in the other department of the store. :-)

  • To be clear I am talking about 4-7 year olds not teenagers. I should have been specific.
