Late walkers

Anyone else have late walkers? My twins are only just walking at 18 months and my little girl still doesn't fully have it yet.

  • The average month for walking is 13 months. But the average range is huuge. From like 9 to 20months or something like that. My son started walking at 9 months 2 days. I say be glad they waited. lol. And if your concerned, as always, you can call your pedi :)

  • My first walked at 10 months... my second at 17 months, but a few months after that we found out there was a physical reason that she was having trouble walking. she's 2 1/2 now and can't run or jump. my third is only 6 months old s i'll have to wait and see....

If they are trying, they'll be fine. You need to worry when they don't try. Good luck :)

  • My LO is a little late in the opinions of some of my family, but, I think that since she is trying to walk (she just turned 1) that she's doing ok, my aunt couldn't walk until she was 14 months and couldn't even sit up until she was 8 or 9 months.

  • My husband thinks our son is late because hes not walking yet at 11 months. I say, if hes not walking by 18 mos then we'll start asking questions.

  • My 2nd did not walk until he was 23mo-- he also had developmental delays and was in Birth to 3 at the time. My other 2 were around 14 months when they started walking.

  • My son was 17 months old when he started walking. He didn't start crawling until he was 11 months, so I wasn't surprised when he wasn't walking til later. His OT was thinking about bringing a PT in if he didn't start walking by 18 months.

  • My dd who is 3 didn't walk until she was 15 months, so I thought I'd give my twin boys the same amount of time before worrying lol Well of course 15 months came and went and then hit 17 months and FINALLY started walking, but they got the hang of it really quick! One of my little guys still has a balance issue, so he falls a lot more than the other one, but they're both blazing their trails through this house! :)
