How much do you pay for daycare? OR, how much do you charge for your childcare services?

DH and I have been discussing going back to work, and going to school full-time as well, and I'm looking for a rough ballpark estimate.
Yes, I know it varies by where you live, and etc... Just curious.

  • We live in the Dallas, TX, area. When my son was in daycare, we paid $135/week or $35/day if we weren't going full time. That was a decent rate, but not super cheap or anything.

  • I pay $125 ( started out at $140 but becuase my son was on special formula and the sitter only provided the regular and we were providing our own formula she decided to go to $125 for us.) It is an in home childcare but she is licensed thru the state. Indianapolis area.

  • I'm in Fort Worth, TX, so our rates may be similar. I pay $182 a week for my 3-year-old and $121.50 a week for my 7-year-old during the summer. My 7-year-old's rate is cheaper during the school year. They are in a pretty nice daycare center.

  • I don't put my son in daycare but when we were looking at preschools I got a leaflet from the place I'd have used if I did put him in daycare. It was $17,000 a year which works out to $363 a week. I'm sure there are cheaper places but if I'm paying someone to raise my kid I'm going to get someone decent.
