I need ideas for fun friday...

To keep our budget in check and keep the kids from dying of boredom, we instituted fun fridays..DH has three days off a week and I work two of them. We share one car and do our errands early tuesday and thursday...

well, I had it in my head we'd take the kids to the beach tomorrow, (without discussing it with dh), who looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and said "it's july fourth weekend."

Ugh.
any other ideas?

It needs to total less than fifty dollars.

  • Take a picnic or Kentucky Fried Chicken to the park! Go see a free fireworks display locally tonight.

  • Do you have a state park close by? A picnic would be fun. Parks are usually less crowded than the beach.

  • Most movie theatres have a summer program with either free movies, 1.00, 2.00 or 5.00 movies. I always bring in our own drinks and snacks so it cost very little.
