Fever and lethargic...................should I worry?

My son is 2 and he has a fever. He is very lethargic. Should I really be worried at this age? I mean, I know he is sick. He has a runny nose and just isn't acting like himself, but at what age do you stop worrying if they have a fever and are lethargic?

And he is drinking enough and is even eating, but he really wants to just sleep. He won't play at all.

  • If you can control the fever with meds then his body is just trying to fight off whatever it is that he has. If he stops drinking enough to pee at least 1 time in 12 hours then he is dehydrating and you need to get him to the doc.

  • That's a pretty low fever. I would let it run it's course unless he gets worse.

  • Jademom, yeah I agree it's low too. The fever I am not too worried about, I am just worried about the lethargy that has come with it, but like I said he is obviously sick so it doesn't really surprise me? LOL, thanks for answering!

  • fever not so much..but the lethargy yes...call he's ped and find out what you should do. They may have you take him to an urgent care if you can't get him in to see his regular doc.
    Hope he feels better soon!
