  • We do occasionally. We don't live near any of our family, so I will often take our daughter to visit family without my husband and went on my own before we had her. I would rather he used his vacation time for us to take a real vacation or to visit his family. He usually doesn't go on vacation without me, but he has taken a weekend to go snowboarding with his friends without me. It's really no big deal for us. Our daughter is still young (10 months) so she goes where I go for now. We're planning on going to Hawaii when she's around 3, though, and she will stay home and the grandmas will come and stay with her.

  • I do my best not to do vacations... Never did like them. But for now the kids are way to young to leave home alone, so if we went we would have to take them, but if they were old enough to leave home, I wouldn't have an issue doing it. I love Disney World and would love to go back, just me and my DH.

  • Right now, we don't but that's because we're in save mode, so if we vacation its more economical (and just as fun) to do it together. When we reach our goals, we've already talked about where we'd go on a separate vacation.

  • Before I got married I never thought I'd take a seperate vacation from my hubby. Well, reality set in & that's the only choice I have. His job is very demanding & there's NO WAY his boss would give him a week off. I don't think its fair for my family who lives in another state to miss out on time w/ my dd just cuz his boss is a jerk. Now we come here for 2 weeks. I miss my hubby like crazy.

  • I don't like going places without my husband, nor does he like going places without me. I know some couples for whom it works well for them do lead separate lives, but it's not for us.
