  • None. Baby food (organic or not) is a waste of money. Just go for regular table foods. Start with things naturally soft (purees are unnecessary) and fork mash or cut into small pieces. Avocado, banana, blueberries, sweet potato, butternut squash, roasted or boiled parsnip -- really any fruit or veggies. Lightly mushed beans, guacamole, hummus too. Babies enjoy the taste variety and textures. Jar food is overcooked and bland and isn't fun. And food before one should be fun and interesting since it isn't for nutrition (babies don't digest solids well).

So just meal share. Enjoy. Let her self feed. You don't even need a small spoon, a regular table or teaspoon is great. Load it up and let her go, or help her guide it. Google: Gil Rapely baby led weaning.

  • Oh, no cereals. Very hard to digest and constipating!

  • We started with mashed avocado. I used Earth's Best baby food when we went out to eat and weren't going straight to the restaurant. Otherwise, I fed my daughter mostly organic fruits and veggies that we mashed or pureed at home.

  • Im not sure about brands but i started with veggies. My pedi recommended it so they dont get a sweet tooth off the bat from the fruit :)

  • If you really want to do baby food, make your own.

  • I buy organic foods and make my own. Far cheaper and it tastes better. It takes very little time to do.
